Optiplex 7480 AIO Orange Light Blinking Codes 3-1

OptiPlex 7480 All-In-One

OptiPlex 7480 All-In-One

Hello everyone,

My husband’s Dell Optiplex 7480 AIO has an amber flashing power button (3 amber flashes, then 1 white flash, followed by a long pause) which started today. After researching on Dell website we discovered it meant a failing CMOS battery.

We’ve changed the battery but still got the same issue with the power button flashing – 3 amber flashes, then 1 white flash and a long pause. The battery is well within use-by date and stored in a cool, dark cupboard.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Many thanks,

Carol

@redxps630

Thanks for that.

But, we tried the RCT reset and still got the same problem. Yet, all hardware tests come back as having no problems.

Test with multimeter to see if it could be a faulty replacement battery.  And replace again with a fresh, new CR2032.
