Optiplex AIO 9020 power on problem

Hello,

I have a problem with Dell Optiplex 9020. (blinking amber and not starting at all )

I have already followed the dell docs to resolve this issue to check the if  PSU  is the source of this problem. I have also tried with another PSU .

The PSU will not have the green light up if the connection (shown in red square in photo) is connected.

I have disconnected the  HDD , bu the same thing.

Also I removed the BIOS cell for a while and returned it , the same thing .(May be put a new one ?)

I am not suspecting the RAM because there is no beep.

PS: I have also tried with another PSU ,  the same result . The PSU  will work and the big fan in the MB will run   if only the cable in green square shown in the picture is connected.

Please advice what  to check next .

That plug you highlighted is the CPU power connector. If plugging the CPU power cable into it causes the PSU not to display a green light then very possibly the MB or the CPU is causing a problem. You can try a new CMOS battery but I suspect the problem not that simple. However you could try reseating the CPU but I have my doubts about the success of doing that.

Hi JOcean,

Can you confirm that the Mother Board have a beep option , I had a doubt about that when I knew that some MB does not have a speaker to beep , is this true for this MB ?

I looked for a PDF  manual to  find the connection designation of this MB but I couldn't find it.

I need it to identify the pins to perform "NVRAM" clearing according to these steps:

thanks.

try reset BIOS using jumper: move jumper E49 to SW50 for 5sec then revert

redxps630_0-1631628804736.jpegClear CMOS settings:

  1. Locate the jumper (blue color) on the system board.
  2. Remove the jumper plug from the E49 jumper
  3. move jumper E49 to SW50 for 5sec
  4. Revert jumper to original position (E49).

@Peguasus51

You could try a moddiy adapter with regular power supply.

Moddiy 9020 PSU 24 Pin to 8 Pin Adapter

the 4 pin needs the EPS12v 4 + 4 Split to plug in.

EVGA 700BR 100-BR-0700-K1

Bestbuy EVGA 700BR skuId=6346160
