Microsoft Support Win10 Update Assistant
It doesn't sound like the Vista solution found is from Microsoft. Vista is quite a ways away from Win10, so not too surprising it didn't work.
If you're new to Win10, please remember updates go slow. But you can use PC while it's downloading updates. Win10 will tell you when it's ready to restart.

"Vista solution found is from Microsoft. Vista is quite a ways away from Win10, so not too surprising it didn't work." You can't use Vista Key to activate 10 so this is not recommended. It can be done but its not supported or recommended as it takes several steps.
Vista Business upgraded to SP2 allows windows home or pro upgrade to 7
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/install-windows-vista-service-pack-2-sp2-468d1d75-4f9b-0855-6900-47d65cbdac1b
WIN7 needs SP1 before it works right with 2TB drives etc.
Old Chipsets from 4 series 5 series etc are removed from current WIN10 ISO.
Windows Vista Business SP2 – Eligible for upgrade to Windows 7 Professional
Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 – Eligible for upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate

Drive is dying soon to be dead.
Time for a new drive
You can WINDOWS R run
C:\Windows\System32\OptionalFeatures.exe
New drives are not expensive.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H2RR55Q/
Old data can be recovered via USB Dock
USB DOCK dp B01FHMPGDQ
Use OEM DVD to install os clean on brand new drive.
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16832350238
However 10 works fine for 780 or 790 with clean install
You then use the WIN7 driver cab file to install all the drivers
https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER01381538M/1/780-win7-A06-4FWNH.CAB
https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER01834206M/1/790-win7-A08-34RKD.CAB
You download cab file then move it to the my documents folder
Once there you install 7zip and right click on the cab file and say 7zip extract here.
https://www.7-zip.org/download.html
Once thats done go into device manager and for any yellow ! say install drivers from my pc instead of from the internet.
This works for the audio and video and AMT HECI SOL.
That way your AHCI Drivers for the INTEL ICH are there as well as the OEM drivers for the HD Audio codec.

"Vista solution found is from Microsoft." - Is not my quote. My quote = "It doesn't sound like the Vista solution found is from Microsoft." Because of which, I didn't chance the link right away. I checked today and sure enough, that solution wasn't from Microsoft.

One way to check if your boot drive is dying and/or if there's a hardware problem is: upon startup, repeatedly press F12 for the Boot Menu. In that menu is diagnostics. Run that. Choose "full" if it gives you a choice between "Quick" and "Full."

That's good news.
As speedstep said and I say it too, loading Win10 from DVD is the easiest bet.

Question for that there @speedstep,
Why does the drivers cab file need to be moved to the Documents folder vs. leaving it and 7zip in the Downloads folder?

Would it not be ok to just reset the pc and save files etc or would that not bring back the Empty Features? I do have a Windows 10 on a CD though. I have alot of little goodies on here but I can always reinstall them! Let me know Guys Ok? Thanks

If you want to reinstall while saving files and programs, you're definitely welcome to try it. It doesn't hurt to try it. If it doesn't work out, you can still do a clean install.
I'm sure you know, things like data and files should always be backed up outside of PC.
Once you reinstall, Win10 will be back in the raw and not have all of its features that come thru updates, like sleep mode for one. Bloatware, like their games, can always be uninstalled if you don't want them.* *I've only done fresh installs with Win10. So if you reinstall while saving files, programs, and goodies, it'll might be interesting to see if it saved the updates.
The latest build for Win10 is 21H2.
If there's any trouble updating, Microsoft has a Win10 Update Assistant that can be downloaded. I had to use it to get to 21H1.

You're welcome. : )
I mentioned "The latest build for Win10 is 21H2." However, speedstep said in another post that 21H2 eliminates a lot drivers. I'm sure it means drivers Win10 comes with. So, you might want to just update to 21H1.
