Dell 2850 EOL/EOS
I know that Dell PowerEdge 2850s are out of Life or not sold any more. However, I was wondering when are they planned to be out of support. Basically, I need to know until when we will be able to get HW replacement and similar support. Is there a date set yet?
Thanks!

Well, all servers are "supported" for life, in that you can call for free tech support on them for life. For example, you can still call on a PE 4300 (12 years old) and they will assist you in troubleshooting, installing OS, etc. As far as getting replacement hardware ... it is just a matter of how long their stock lasts on certain parts. For example, they are already out of RAID memory - and have been for about a year, but they still have motherboards for older systems (like the 2550). It just depends on the part. As for new OS support, they will update each machines download page for new OS's as long as the systems are able to support the basic features of an OS.
