ScaleIO 2.x and XenServer 7

Team, you have any information about support of ScaleIO on XenServer 7?

I'm very anxious to find out if next release will support 7.1 and 7.2.  Any updates on this and when should we expect support for XenServer latest version.

With the current speed, it would probably be next year. The solution is to stick with Xenserver 7. There is not a big difference between the versions. The big problems is; it is not easy to downgrade if you already have gone to 7.1 or 7.2.

While we are waiting, I wonder what kind of IOPS you are getting from Xenserver 7.x? I am unable to get over 32.000 IOPS even on fast SSDs. Going to a fast and expensive storage loses its meaning if you can't get the full performance.

The fact EMC stays quiet, doesn't look very promising.

I already requested a download link several times through the download page for 2.0.1.3, but haven't got any response as of now. Also the 'trail' page still isn't updated to the latest as far as I can see.

Download link on the 'Free ScaleIO'-page is broken:

I just downloaded version 2.0.1.3 from here:

https://www.emc.com/products-solutions/trial-software-download/scaleio.htm?CID=306225&st=scaleio+download&VEN1=s1ph1itbg%2C212489206289%2C901qz26673%2Cc%2Cwk1bwngG&VEN2=e%2Cscaleio+download&LID=&dgc=st&dgseg=cbg&acd=1230921248720569&VEN3=412404019583457136

It worked perfectly.

I wonder if it possible to hack either Xenserver 7.1 to report version 7.0 or modify the Scalio installer, so it will install on version 7.1. Any suggestions?

Thanks, but I already found a DL (which was hard to find!).

After installing 3 test-nodes on XS 7.1, I found out that it isn't easy to install ... (couldn't get it to work, and didn't look into manual rpm install, errors there, missing dependencies, etc...).

Back to 7.0 I guess, and test from there... also test in the lab how IO scales when adding disks in those machines.
I wonder how much they are still working at the v2 branch with ScaleIO 3 announced earlier this year.

Since there is no big difference it shouldn't be hard to port version 2.0.1.3 to it .  My hardware is not supported on XS7.0.  Since 7.1 is LTSR, I would suggest a version to support it.

As for IOPS, there is some issue that are currently being worked out.  https://bugs.xenserver.org/browse/XSO-599

Let me know which command you would like me to run and I'll report back my benchmark on my NVMe drives

I am most interested in performance in a Windows VM, because it is here I see the worst results. I have actually tried the USX demo, but the performance was so bad, that I deleted it again right away. Later I have found out that the performance  probably is limited by the Windows VM performance.

If you could run Atto bench32 with standard setting, it would give me a ballpark figure of the performance. Thank you

Blaasvaer, Sadly only Linux VMs here (Is there anybody still using Windows? Lol ). Actually even limited to Debian, and shell only. Windows' used resources on a hypervisor are ridiculous in general (actually always have been), but luckily don't need those in my environment.
