ML6000 Error T124 Robot initalization Failure

Hey all! After a quick power blip, my ML6000 suddenly started erroring out with T124. I've collected a bit of info, but I'm stressed about the results. If I have to replace the robot it's nearly a grand on eBay...

The error occurs at Picker BOOT event. So the picker robot has smarts in it? and the error detail is Boot_Fail_Memory_Test witch is really concerning.
The manual doesn't go into detail but that sounds like the robot is having some sort of memory issue. I want to fix this on my own if I can, but I cant find the schematics anywhere. And I have no debugging tools I think.

Any ideas, comments, suggestions would be immensely appreciated. Please and thank you.

Hello @Kenwoodfox,

Sorry to read that. Well, let's see what can be done for your ML6000. First of all, a T124 error message means a Robotics Hardware Error - RCB. But I have also seen this error in the past related to some firmware solvable issues.

Can you check firmware version and let me know?

Thank you in advanced.
Regards.

@DiegoLopez

Thanks so much for your reply, I was very worried id be all alone on this!

I'm willing to go down any avenue you think might help, and it's awesome to hear you have some experience in this.

The WebGUI for the most part still works, but I was not able to open the system information tab where I would have expected the firmware information to be, as the robot failure causes RAS tickets. Witch stop the system from initializing, where else could I find the information?

Maybe you can use IMB ITDT Tool to check and update the firmware. It is included in the firmware download. Please, check this article:
ITDT-SE CLI for Windows – Customer use of ITDT to update Tape Drives and Run Diagnostics

This tool will also help you to export the Tape Drive Diagnostics.

Regards.

Thank you so much, I don't have any windows hosts ATM but I'm sure I can get this going on a VM, this is a big step forward, I had no idea there was a diagnostics tool!

I'll get back to you when I have the answers, I don't think I need any drive diagnostics, the issue really seems focused on the robot,

Did you ever get to fix your Library?

I have Library with exact same Issue, no support and probably no spare parts to swop in and out.

I actually was able to walk through with a friend and replace each part individually except for the backplane, and even replacing the controller didn't fix it for me. I've since just begun manually changing tapes and haven't touched the library in a while. But I really would like to get it working again. Its a real shame i was never able to figure it out.
