7720: what does this broken keyboard cable do?
In installing more RAM, I noticed this cable was broken:
broken cable top left
Any idea what it does? It is plugged in, so I expect it has some function, but the trackpad and the keyboard both still seem to work... and system tests pass.

The cable looks ok -- the RF shield over it is what's broken.
Just push it back down and put a small piece of dielectric tape on it to re-secure it.
