Dell Precision 5520 SSD replacement
Hi all,
I want to upgrade/replace my PCIe SSD and the question ist if generation 4 would also work?
I am considering

or
or should I go with Gen. 3

Thanks!

According to this chart on the support page, the 5520 supports gen 4. Gen 3 will work and can be found to cost slightly less than Gen 4 in some cases. It all comes down to what your main use is of the 5520 and how fast is fast. This web page at PCWorld might help with your questions. For the average user Gen 3 is plenty fast enough unless you routinely transfer large amounts of data. And the average user would have a hard time noticing the speed difference between Gen 3 and Gen 4.
