I have the same laptop and I use Arch Linux on it with kernel 5.5.4 and I still have the same error and have had it since purchasing the laptop in October of last year. One thread says updating firmware on hdmi fixes it but who knows how to update firmware on hdmi port. I am using the latest bios from fwupd which is 1.7 and this error is still there.
I still have the same issue as well. I was not to happy with Dell response. They said if its not causing anything wrong they suggest not worry about it. If there is something going on then reach back out to them. Was not really much help at all.
This link below I found others following this and the developer put in the chain to boost the bug up and hopefully get it resolved in future releases. Maybe you can add to it so we can get traction and prioritized. Their are several already posting on it.
I have a Dell Precision 7750 with the latest firmware (1.43) with Ubuntu 24.04 up-to-date and I have the same error on it (in my Ubuntu logs).
Important notes: - HDMI output works correctly - The error appears even when no external display is connected - This happens across multiple kernel versions (6.8, 6.12, 6.14).
This looks like a firmware issue where the BIOS advertises an LSPCON device that is either not present, not wired, or not usable on this model.
Could this be reviewed and corrected in a future BIOS update (for example by fixing the ACPI/VBT tables)?

Hello @Autoeth and @freefreeno ,
The same error messages are occurring on a similar laptop as yours (Precision 7550) also running ubuntu.
I would like to know if you got any solution since you posted these messages quite a while ago.
Thanks for your help

Hi all,
I have a Dell Precision 7750 with the latest firmware (1.43) with Ubuntu 24.04 up-to-date and I have the same error on it (in my Ubuntu logs).
Important notes:
- HDMI output works correctly
- The error appears even when no external display is connected
- This happens across multiple kernel versions (6.8, 6.12, 6.14).
This looks like a firmware issue where the BIOS advertises an LSPCON device that is either not present, not wired, or not usable on this model.
Could this be reviewed and corrected in a future BIOS update (for example by fixing the ACPI/VBT tables)?
System details:
- Model: Dell Precision 7750
- BIOS: 1.43
- OS: Ubuntu Linux 24.04
- Kernel: 6.14
- GPU: Intel iGPU (i915)
Thanks
