Hi @DELL-Cares - We bought lot of precision 7670 and 7680 - each is getting very hot. Do you have any ideas how to solve it or it's just design flaw?

We have the same issues with our new precisions. Turn the turbo boost off in the bios. We are seeing temps as high as 212F. Averaging 100C. With the turbo boost off we are seeing 62C for hours and hours in our testing.
This needs to be addressed. BIOS update?

Out of 10 7680 laptops I have seen this issue on all of them. I have had to send back 1 for freezing and they couldn't repair it. So, got a refurbed 7680. Have ticket open for another one freezing. Issue seems to occur if I leave the machine idle overnight or for a long period. We had to turn off sleeping because that causes a blue screen issue when they are on the Dell Dock (Another known issue https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/precision-mobile-workstations/precision-7670-wd22tb4-dock-crashes-when-waking-from-sleep-or-hibernation/647fa2d4f4ccf8a8de87ccef). In the morning the keyboard is so hot you can't touch it. Out of the 13 7670 we have sent 2 back for overheating right out of the box and 1 for freezing. Pretty poor quality control and it would be nice to track down the issue. There have been quite a few Bios updates, which, don't seem to help the issue. Been a big fan of Dell for years, but, this is becoming an issue and users are complaining. It is disappointing when each machine costs over $3000.
