Dell Precision m6800 Graphics Upgrade

Hey Guys I want to upgrade My Dell Precision m6800 GPU to Quadro P5000.

The First thing That I figured out was that I need a eDP Motherboard Cause The Pascal Family don't support The LVDS Screens .

I found one on ebay can you tell me it is the right model ? :

https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Dell-Precision-M6800-Laptop-Motherboard-DDR3-rPGA-947-EDP-LCD-GDMGC-0GDMGC-/284087545795

and also I read in some forums that I have to update VBios to use the Card I found one at the Link below ,please help me if it is the right one and give me link if it is wrong and also I don't know how to update it if is any tutorial . ( does it have that much of risk like updating the bios???)

the VBIOS Link : https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/208556/208556

at least I wanted to ask that is there any FHD or 4K Colorful (like Adobe RGB Standard) IPS Panel for my Laptop with eDP.  if there is give me the link and part number if you can.

Thanks a lot.

So, that looks like the correct motherboard, but keep in mind that you will also need to swap out the screen and video cable with EDP compatible components.

You might just be better off getting a Precision 7710 with an i7 or Xeon CPU and upgrading the GPU in that one.  The entire range of Precision 7710 machines are EDP and you do not need to mod the VBIOS for full compatibility.  Just mod the driver .inf file turn off driver signature enforcing in windows and install.

My daily driver laptop / Gaming laptop is a Precision 7710 that I upgraded from a Quadro M4000M to a Quadro P4000, and more recently upgraded to a Quadro P5000. (btw I run discrete graphics only and both the P4000 and P5000 consume around 5-8w for standard computing usage.)

It Seems Good But How can I sell my Laptop with a good price and also how much a 7710 costs??

I want to know your experience with precision 7720 and Quadro p5000 does it worth it ???

The raw performance gain from a mobile Quadro P4000 to P5000 is not giant, but it is noticeable.  The big jump is going from 8GB to 16GB of VRAM because some GPU based tasks like Iray rendering require that the entire job fit into the GPU VRAM.

As far as getting a used Precision 7710, there are plenty of them on ebay.  You can find Core i7 models starting around $600 USD.  Keep in mind that if the system comes with and AMD GPU or no dedicated GPU, you will need to purchase the Nvidia heatsink assembly (Dell PN:YJNJK) (try to get one that has the thermal pads included)

If you are talking about $7000 USD, then I would recommend the New Precision 7750 Data Science Workstation

The link above is preconfigured with an 8 core Xeon CPU, 64GB RAM, Quadro RTX 5000 16GB GPU, and 4K HDR Screen.
