Difference between Dell Command Update and Dell Command Update Catalog for SCCM
Hello,
is there any difference between detection rules of Dell Command Update Client (3.1.3) and Dell Command Update Catalog for SCCM (MEMCM 2002)?
I have a Precision 5540 laptop, where Goodix Fingerprint Sensor Driver version 3.31.30.110 A08 (KP8ND) is detected as available and NOT installed repeatedly. Version of the driver (in device manager and also based on Inventory Agent report) stays the same (2.1.32.800). Update is installed without issues by MEMCM client Software Center, requests for reboot and after reboot is marked in Software Center as Installed. However, after next Windows Update agent sync is again marked as not installed and available for installation. Which is correct because actual driver version did not change.
On the other hand, running Dell Command Update client application detected this update as available and after installation and subsequent restart, this application no longer proposes this update as available. Contrary to MEMCM client.
This is not the only update by the way. Also 0VVKH and TBT68 are detected by MEMCM as missing and by DCU as installed.
Any idea what is wrong?
