Fake battery
Hi everyone. I have a precisione 5530 and I decided to replase its battery. I bought a new battery solded me as original, and it looks like it. I plug it into the pc but the pc tell me the battery is fake. Now, there is 2 options.
1) the battery is fake
2) I have to do something via software before the change. Is it possible?

Thank you for your reply. I will try that procedure. So do you confirm that none software operation is needed before the battery change?
I read onto dell website that also 3rd part batteries are ok just if they are checked by dell.

Very possibly it is not a genuine Dell battery. You can enter diagnostics, tap F12 at boot, and run diagnostics to double check the battery. You can try this however. Unplug the adapter and disconnect the battery. Now hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then reconnect everything and see if the message is no longer displayed. If the message returns then you probably have a non Dell battery and should replace it with a known Dell battery such as sold here.
