HELP! Precision 7550 Issues after onsite service call
I have a five month old Precision 7550. It was purchased in March of 2021. A couple of months after purchase, it stated having the display go blank and I would have to close and open the lid to get the display back.
I contacted support and after several hours on the phone, they determined that the motherboard needed to be replaced, but it was on backorder. Ok that's fine since I could still use it with the existing issue.
The board and tech showed up yesterday. He replaced the motherboard and now the diags are showing the following issues.
PCIe - Training warning on device PCI tag-0101 VendorID-10DE DeviceID-10FA SVid-1028 SDid-09C3 Link Degraded, maxWidth - x16, negWidth = x8
PCIe - Training warning on device PCI tag-0100 VendorID-10DE DeviceID-1FB8 SVid-1028 SDid-09C3 Link Degraded, maxWidth - x16, negWidth = x8
They were supposed to ship the parts overnight to the service tech. I received an email during the night that the parts will not be available until November 19, 2021.
I start my next semester at college this coming Monday, and I am concerned about the stability of this system.
After another long phone call, Dell has decided to send me a factory refurb computer, but it will take several weeks to get here.
What specifically are these errors and should I be concerned about the stability and find another computer or take my chances with this one in my classes.
Is there anything I can do with this one such as a bios update or is this a hardware failure? It is at 1.7.0 after the tech did a bios install but I see that the latest is 1.8.1.

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

I also have a Precision 7550 with this problem -
"...display go blank and I would have to close and open the lid to get the display back."
Any solutions?

I am sure you have read the details of my issues. I stared pushing Dell and demanding they make it right with me. I was ready to take legal action but enough screaming got me to folks that took the time to look into the issue, and they finally did right by me. I cannot complain. They replaced the damaged system with a brand new system. Knock on wood, it has been perfect.
You will need to have it serviced under warranty, and see if that corrects the issue. When it does not or it gets worse then you can push forward. They have to be given the opportunity to fix it or you don’t have a leg to stand on.
It really is a good system but I believe that they got a bad lot of video boards.
