M6800 Graphic options

Question

Am I right in thinking that the laptop's display is powered by the integrated HD Intel graphics by default? How can I change it so that both displays are powered by the Nvidia Quadro. From settings/display I can detect both displays and set up multi displays with extended display option selected. Both displays are now configured correctly to native resolutions. There is no information or option to see and change which graphics card is being used. Launching Nvidia control panel I can only see the one display which is the external one connected by HDMI. I can select which graphics card is driving the display but only on this external one and not the laptop display. Is it possible to drive the laptop screen with the Nvidia Quadro card?

If there's a hardware switch for the GPU, it'll be in system setup (F2 at powerup).

Have checked out the bios settings and there is only a check box to enable gpu switching, so presumably the switch is after boot. thanks
