P2723DE, not waking up Precision 7520

How do I get my P2723DE to wake up the Precision 7520 laptop to wake up upon connecting USB-C? I have power delivery enabled. When I was using the TB16 dock to power and connect peripherals to my Precision 7520 laptop, when I connected the USB-C cable, the laptop woke up. Now when I close the laptop and send it to sleep in a meeting and bring it back to my desk, connecting it to the monitor via USB-C doesn't wake it up. And the monitor doesn't have a power button like the TB16 dock has, so I have to open and close the laptop to wake it up.

It was waking when you connected the TB16 because specifically how docks are meant to be used.  Usually, connecting other types of devices, like a monitor, won't wake a PC from sleep.  There are settings in the BIOS so the computer will wake when AC power is connected or due to a signal from certain USB devices (not sure if just connecting one would do it though), but I'm fairly certain neither would do what you want due to the fact you want to keep the laptop closed.

The best option I can think of for you is to set your laptop so it doesn't actually go to sleep when you close it.  It probably won't use up WAY more power than Standby if it's not doing anything.  When you take it back to your desk and plug in the monitor and keyboard/mouse, etc, the laptop will still be awake.

To set it up, you'd go into Windows Power Options (right click the battery in the System Tray), click the link on the left that says "what happens when I close the lid," and for both "battery" and "plugged in," set to "Do Nothing."

Just remember: if you DO want your computer to sleep, you'll have to do it manually, like by right-clicking the power button in the Start Menu and choosing "Standby."
