Precision 5530 charging issues on dock

Question

I have a Precision 5530 that is a little over three years old.  I also have a WD15 docking station.  The laptop stays in the dock most of the time.  Recently I replaced the battery with one from a 3rd party reliable vendor.  Everything was fine for a while.  Just the other day, after a recent update to Windows, I put the laptop into the dock, and the next day I came in and the laptop was dead.  I had to remove it from the dock and plug it into the external power supply to get it to power on.  I even removed the battery and reconnected it because it didn't seem to be charging.  After that, the battery charged fine.  However, when I put the laptop back into the docking station, everything works except the charging via USB-C.  It would say it was plugged in, but not charging.  So I decided to plug in the external power supply along with the USB-C connection at the same time.  The USB connection to my monitor still works and the hub is working, however, the battery isn't charging.  I don't know if a BIOS update, Windows update, or battery issue is causing the problem, or if something has gone wrong with my docking station.  I need some direction to try and resolve the issue.  Not sure whether to get a new battery, a new docking station, or how to determine what is the issue.   Help??

I have the same problem , precision 5530 drains the battery when connected to dell dock via Thunderbolt . Add the ac charger at the same time works.
