It can have either or both HDD and/or SSD. The confirmation email might not be completely accurate. You have to wait until tomorrow to call and ask them. Recheck the listing you used. Always print out the listing especially for Outlet purchases. See the specs sheet

@Mary G

Thanks, Mary, for your response.

I did hear back today from Dell, and it is, in fact, a 512GB SSD. So that made me very happy. The only thing that I need to know now is if it's a touchscreen. I'm unsure whether the Precision 7510 comes in touch but I will find out. If not, that will be the only thing I really will be missing.

I appreciate your reply. You were correct that the confirmation is not always accurate (yes!!).

Have a happy holiday.

One last question:

I found out it's NOT a touchscreen (oh, well), but I also found out it comes with an 802.11ac WiFi card.

Does this model allow the installation of 802.11ax? Is this even able to be opened and modified? I have the eero Pro 6 mesh system, and I really won't be getting the full effect of it if I am on 802.11ac.

Thanks for any info anyone can give.

The Precision 7710 and 7510 are use the same chipsets and the same expansion ports (7710 gets an extra m.2 hdd port)

All you need to do is get a ngff form factor wifi AX or Wifi 6 card and replace the existing AC card.  Just make sure that it is a dell compatible version.  I upgraded my 7710 and my wife's G7 gaming machines to Killer Wifi AX cards with no issues.  Then I moved the newer generation AC card from the G7 over to my son's 7510.

The simple rule is that as long as the card is sold as Dell compatible, and is for the correct port.  Newer systems are ngff (1 screw notch), and older ones are mini PCIe (2 screw holes).

@JamesJAB1

I'm just wondering if the 7510 is able to be opened easily and worked on. I change things like this myself, but I don't want to ruin anything. I changed out the card in my last HP, but now with the new laptop coming and the eero Pro 6, I want to be able to reap the benefits of WiFi 6.

Anything I need to know you can tell me? Did you do this yourself or did you bring it to a shop?

Thanks for your help.

Sounds easy peasy.

I just got off chat with Newegg and this is what they are recommending:
Intel AX200 Gig+ Wi-Fi 6 Desktop Kit

The Precision 7710 and 7510 are very easy to open for upgrades.

1. Shut down and unplug the computer.
2. Move the slider to release the battery and remove it
3. Remove the 2 screws holding the base plate on, then slide the plate towards the back of the laptop.
4. lift the base plate off the computer.

From here you have access to the following: 2 RAM slots, 2 m.2 SSD slots, 1 2.5" SATA HDD bay, 1 ngff wifi card slot, 1 WWAN cellular card slot, 1 SIM card slot, and the CMOS battery.

The other 2 RAM slots are under the keyboard.

Instead of that one I would grab the "Rivet Networks Killer AX1650 PCI Express Card" from newegg.

All you need to do is pull the ngff wifi card off of the PCIe card and install it into your laptop.  And especially with all of the new Wireless AX routers, Install the newest manufacturer drivers for your wifi card.

@JamesJAB1

Thank you for your reply. I am in love with this laptop but going through a bit of a problem in other areas.

The webcam/camera is undetectable. Have done all the troubleshooting with a rep from Dell, and right now they feel it's a hardware issue, not software. The good news is it's still under warranty, so they will come to the house to fix it.

I am also having an issue with the sound from let's say a music video going in and out sometimes. And when I update the Realtek driver, I lose my Maxxsense equalizer. So there's that. I can't upgrade without that problem.

Also, I can drop the connection to the internet with a pop-up saying my device is configured properly but there is a problem with the DNS. So I have been flushing, registering, etc. (command prompt and then ipconfig /flush dns, etc.) that when it happens. It restores my functionality, but it happens again down the road. But I have an email in to eero and will see if they say it's my internet provider. I'm pretty sure they will.

Overall, though, this is one good workstation. Hoping to get the kinks out of it because I have a good feeling about it, even with all these little problems.

Oh, the fun of getting a new laptop.

Hello James,

I have a Precision 7510, it has 1 sata slit and 1 m2 slot

All the 7510 videos on YouTube when ipened have only 1 m2 and 1 sata (like mine)

I am wondering if the second m2 slot you're referring to is hidden or something? Help
