Precision 7530 Recharging Issue
My computer is having issues with recharging. It can take a whole night to recharge the computer fully. If I recharge the computer while using it, the battery level doesn't increase, and the computer gets laggy (but if I stop recharging, it operates smoothly again). The recharging port and jack get so hot that I might get burnt touching it for a long time. So is it the recharger that is faulty, or is it something else?

@murphy24 Basically a system that has charging problems (no charge, adapter or battery not recognized, etc.) is either a bad adapter, DC jack, battery, or the MB charging circuit. The kicker here is the heat buildup. I doubt the battery health would cause that kind of heat. But a defective adapter or DC jack would. Again try another adapter if possible and if the problem still exists then replace the DC jack.

The heat could mean a short in the system. I would start with a DC jack replacement. If possible try another adapter (recharger) to see if that is the problem. DC jacks can be found at Parts-People here.

@JOcean I need to add a point: when recharging, sometimes it would stop recharging for a moment before recharging again. Is this still because of the DC jack? I have seen some posts that say the heat might be because the recharger is faulty, or because the battery is so torn out (my battery health is only 45-ish%).
