I am new to Recoverpoint. Have a basic question on it.

Suppose i have a 10 GB standalone LUN without any Recoverpoint in place initially and it has 8 GB of data. Now, i deployed RPA in my infrastructure and created a consistency group and defined this 10 GB LUN with 8 GB of data as source and another 10 GB LUN as target LUN at remote site. When i start very first time replication from source to transfer then as per my understanding only new writes from that point will go to replica journals and not the old 8 GB data to the target journal/volume. Is this correct ? If this is correct then how the old 8 GB data at source LUN's reaches to target LUN ? Please clarify.
