Offline Access 6.6 client with Exchange 2010 combination not in Compatibility Guide
Hi,
I've deployed a new ES1 6.5 installation in an Exchange 2010 environment.
Customer, as we suggested, wanted to deploy OA on their pcs client.
Standard email client used is Ms Outlook 2007 so no OA compatibility problems.
We did some test and everything works fine.
Just today reading the last ES1 compatibility guide version 300-008-041 A10 at pag. 21 reguarding Oa 6.6 compatibility I notice that as Exchange server only version 2003 and 2007 are reported.
I'm a bit surprise because OA works closly with Outlook and ES1, so why it should be not compatible with Exchange 2010 ?
Customer is using it without problems at all.
Does anyone in EMC could confirm if OA6.6 could be used or not with Exchange 2010 ? If not why ?
Is anyone's customer using OA 6.6 within an Exchange 2010 environment ?
Does anyone have problem using OA with Exchange 2010 ?

Exchange 2010 is supported
Outlook 2010 is not
Microsoft changed the API for Outlook 2010 and a Client to support those change is in development.

thanks for your reply.
I was already aware about Ms Outlook 2010, but Exchange 2010 lack in compatibility guide just alarm me.
So you think EMC just miss to update the Exchange field in OA compatility requirements list.
I suppose you're not from EMC, or at least your email address doesn't belong to emc.com domain, so did you get a direct confirmation by EMC about this issue or are you just supposing for experience and logic as I'm doing too ?
By this I didn't want to minimize your reply, but I just want to get an official reply by EMC staff in order to avoid misanderstanding if customer'll open an SR about OA issue and EMC support drops it because it seems a not supported environment.
Could anyone from EMC confirm actual OA with Exchange 2010 is a supported environment, covered by EMC support ?

Is there any ETA on when Outlook 2010 will be compatible with OfflineAccess 6.6?

It is currently in testing and I would guess early 2011.

Early 2011 is also the answer I've gotten for Outlook 2010 compatibility.

Offline Access is a client side application therefore, Outlook client compatibility is necessary. For Exchange server compatibility please refer to SourceOne Server Compatibility.
