A disk read error occurred
I have a dimension 8100 and for several days now I have the following error:
"A disk read error occurred, Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"
What can I do, I already try to re-instal the OS and as soon as it start loading the error pop up. I run diag and still nothing. I took the hard drive out and put it in another computer and loaded the OS but when I put it back into my computer still the same error. Please provide step by step instructions of what to do to resolve this issue. Thank you.

Also, I had replaced the hard drive about a 6 months to a year ago. Was getting a missing Win32.hal file message and had to reinstall every thing. Had worked fine for about 3 months, then recurring error. Then hardware issues started- bad fan- replaced, heat sink, cleaned CPU and heat sink, reinstalled w/ heat transfer paste (Arctic Silver 5). Booted up ok 2x, then got error "A disk read error has occurred, Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart".
Got into set-up and changed boot order from Floppy to CD Rom and no luck booting- same error.
Help!
