Adding second SATA HardDrive

I have a new XPS 400 160gb SATA and would like to add another HD I have a WD caviar 320 SATA brand new and the correct cable for this, Do I have to use a jumper for this type of HD? And once installed, How do I format this drive? or will it recognize it and ask to be formated? thanks in advance for the info

No jumpers; you need the drive and a data cable. Mount the drive, go into setup and enable it, boot XP and open the disc administrator to partition and format it.

Ok I tried everything, I went to Bios and looked for the drive. Didn't see it other than the hard drive C,floppy and the two dvd drives. So I tried turning each one on then went to comp management and still nothing. I know it a SATA drive and I have the correct cable and it plugged in correctly on both sides(motherboard and HD). Why isn't it seeing it. I even checked for an update for my bios to flash and I'm good there. I realize I'm not a Comp expert by far but these things are drivin me nuts. Adding a hard drive should be as easy as installing memory
