ASPI driver for DVD using Windows XP

I have a Dimension 4100 series and was using Windows ME, I just upgraded to Windows XP and mt DVD player is calling for a new ASPI driver.  I have done this before, but cannot remember where I went to get the driver.  Can someone point me in the right direction?  Thanks in advance for your reply.

Ted:

I assume you mean that you installed XP over top of ME? You might want to just install the WinDVD patch and see if that helps. You can download it HERE.

If that does not help, go HERE for more help.

Yes, you are correct, it is XP over my existing ME!  So I am just getting used to a new way or operating, quite different than what I am used to.  I use Windows 2000 at work, which is similar to ME when downloading and filing, but XP takes a little getting used to.

Thank you for your prompt reply Osprey, I downloaded both sites you gave me.  It appears these are not correct, (as they did not seem to work) or I am doing something wrong.  I think the latter is the case.

Regards,

Ted.

Ted:

Make sure you follow the instructions under, "To use ATAPI and SCSI drives under NT/2K/XP with ASPI ".
