attaching CD rom module to computer
Hello. I can't seem to get my CD Rom drive to work. I used to just take out my floppy drive and insert my CD rom drive instead, but now my floppy drive is stuck in the computer and I can't get it out. I'm undoing the latch on the bottom, but the drive is just stuck. Anyway, I have this cable that came with the computer and it fits into my CD rom module and also to the back of my computer where I would normally attach the printer. So I tried using that cable to attach my CD rom module to my computer, but it doesn't work. I get the message: "There is no CD Rom attached to this computer." I know this sounds stupid. Please take pity and help. I have a Latitude CP M233ST. Thanks!

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
The CDROM drive will not work on the parallel port cable.
That cable is only meant to be used with your floppy drive.
So, you need to get the floppy drive out of the system.
If it will not come out by use of the eject latch, then you will probably have to take the
system apart. You can find diagrams on doing so here.
Note:Dell cannot warrant any work that is not done by the Dell repair depot or certified
Dell onsite tech. Any work you do on the system yourself, you do at your own risk.
