Hello, Thanks for emailing me back. How do I fund error codes listed? I was in problem reports and solutions. That is where there are a list of things that went wrong with the laptop shutting off rendomly.
It would appear that your error is not related to the hard drive.
There are many causes for blue screen errors, drivers, application errors, hardware problems, etc. There's no way to know what your problem is unless you write down each error. My suggestion would be to search the error first. Then if you are unable to diagnose it, post first in the software forums.
Also when my compter is loading it goes to Windows boot manager and if I choodse the top it never loads it is the green light blinking across the scree for microsoft. If I chose just Windows Vista it loads but slower than normal. Speed when signed on is fine.
That error only means you did not have a disc in your DVD drive to perform a read test. So it sounds like your hardware is fine. My suggestion would be to try posting in the Microsoft OS forum. Please provide the model of your Dell, your operating system, and the exact blue screen error. It will look something like the picture shown here (just an example, not your exact error).
Thanks will try that. I did get a blue screen like that with other info on it... like you stated. It would be on my screen and then gone in seconds. Is there a way to find that on my computer? I could not copy and paste it...

When you get a blue screen error, write down what you see on the screen.
