Boot problems
Hi there my Dell 7559 Inspiron laptop shows
Service tag-
Error Code- 2000-0142
Validation- 117106
Hard drive 1- S/N X5TNC1Y8T
I want to know why it is out of warranty and what can be done about it, apart from replacing the HDD

It is out of warranty because you didn't purchase warranty extension beyond the 1 year.
You can sit on your hands and have a non-working laptop if you don't want to replace the hard drive.

Hard drives fail -- for any of a host of reasons -- some electrical, some mechanical. This one is failing an internal self-test that the manufacturer deemed a critical failure. There is nothing you can do short of replacing the drive.
