booting from external HDD?
Inspiron E1405, Windows XP
Acomdata Ondago External HD :can connect via firewire or USB (takes power form 2 USB ports), formatted in FAT32
Can anyone answer these questions?
1. Can I boot XP from my external HDD ? The HDD has about 20 GB left and is formatted in FAT32. If it would have to be formatted in NTFS, I'm not sure I would be able to do it with my pc.
2. How would I go about installing it onto the HDD? I do have the installation CDs.
Thank you!

Hi, Zorba:
Yes, I believe your model supports booting from an external USB device. It isn't necessary to use NTFS. See if this procedure helps.
