An 8 Mb cache will be somewhat faster because it will have more data in the cache when the CPU requests the data.

What is the difference between the page file and this cache? I seen memory compared to a library, the ram being like books laying on check out desk, the virtual memory or page file being like books on shelve behind check out desk, and the HDD being like having to go to basement to get a book. Where does the buffer or cache fit into this?  Thanks Doogie
