Burning cd from itunes

I am trying to burn cd from itunes , do i have to upgrade my cd burner?
it seems that there is a conflict

the i tunes came up with fllg remark:

If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.

Some Dell computers need an update to the ATA bus driver before iTunes recognizes CDs.

thanks

Hi Dho,

I must ask this up front, are you saying that you cannot burn CD`s from iTunes?
Sorry but the reason I am asking, I worked with a nice lady one night through PM`s on that same remark from iTunes for a couple of hours and come to find out she was not having problems but just curious about the message.

Best Regards

God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the
difference.

i am having the same problem and am about to lose my mind.

i am a dance instructor and burn CDs as part of my teaching. my livelihood is affected yet no one has an answer. it has affected my cd burner in every program too, otherwise i would use roxio, etc.

the deal:
samsung CDRW.
keep getting that same problem in iTunes......says it's checking media, then returns to pre-burn mode. occasionally it actually "pretends" it's writing a CD, but then once it's done it's BLANK!

i contacted dell support, then reseated the drive. checked the samsung site for drivers, none were available.

someone help me. i am so upset and frustrated.

thank you!
