Sounds like the drive is defective -- have Dell replace it (or the system) under warranty.  It's a standard tray-load DVD drive.

are  you sure its defective ? ...maybe its not mounted correctly ?...i just bought it yesterday and i dont want to put it in warranty already ...if the tray is defective i would have to return this laptop unfortunately..i have found the external button i just had to take out the foil which was covering it now it opens..but the cd  still wont fit in the tray

as you can see there are some springs a little out of the wheel which keeps the cd from fitting ...and it doesnt matter if i press the button or eject it through commands it will still be like this ...so this thing can only  be fixed if i put it in warranty ?  thats what i want to know...or if it can be fix at all

Looks like the disc retainer is missing.  The drive needs to be replaced.

I just fixed mine ( Bostro ) with same exact problem by sending it back...I made the mistake of letting the thing pull in one of my file save cd's (used before thumb drives became popular) and it scratched it to the point it is no longer readable..Lots of data and family photos LOST..
