Can't boot

I have a optiplex GX240 and my monitor sent a surge to computer apparently messing up the hard drive.  After several attempts at trying to boot, I replaced hard drive and now it says "previous attempts at booting this system has failed at checkpoint [krst].  For help in resolving this problem please note this checkpoint and contact dell tech. support.  Does anybody know what the heck is wrong?

Not really sure what the error means, but everytime I've had an error that says that (just with different letters in the [ ] part), they've sent me a new hard drive.

Thank you for your input.  You wouldn't know how to get a hold of tech support would you?

Is your GX-240 under warranty?
800-822-8965 should get you started (it may be the wrong number but should get you into the navigation where you can get to where you need to be)
Be sure you have your  s e r v i c e  t a g
 and they will ask you for your Express s e r v i c e   c o d e (longer, all numeric)
