Go to My Computer, right click on the drive and try the eject command there, see if this works.

Sometimes after using the Eject Button, a driver tends to become corrupt. Click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 15, article 1.

I have the very same problem. The "eject" command on screen did not work for me. The "paper clip" solution opened the door and allowed me to extract my CD, but then the drive began to whine quite loudly for a while. This is pretty scarey. Any further suggestions will be appreciated...or should I begin to look into a replacement since my system is under warrantee?
Never understimate the annoyance inducing power of Sonic DLA. Try downloading and installing the latest patch for Sonic Record Now
here. See if that resolves the issue.
Thanks for the feedback, glad it is working now, chalk another one up to Ron and his "favorite" burning program !!
