There is a cable that connects the hard drive (or M.2) to the mainboard - one of the Dell engineers recently posted that there are two different parts - one for the M.2 adapter and a different one for a 2.5" SATA drive.  The cables are not identical electrically.

thank you for your answer. May be I was not clear so just to complete :

The M2 drive was in an adapter, and the adapter is plugged in a SATA connector than seem to be classical. So I can Plug without any problem, but the detection don't match.

If you've got another idea, let me know.

Best regards

The connector for a SATA 2.5" drive is different from the one used for an M.2 drive - yes.  You'll need to contact Dell Spare Parts to order the part.
