Running CHDSK in XP, get error message: 'Correcting errors in the volume bitmap, correcting errors in the master file table's bitmap attribute windows found problems with the file system run chkdsk with /f option'
So I reboot and my mouse will freeze somtimes so I reboot and my mouse is fine. Run chkdsk, soemtimes the errors are gone, sometimes thy are not, but thet come back after some computin' ???
Windows sugjests that I download a utility by my HD manufacturer but I don't know who that is.

Hi Ed,
You should be able to find the manufacturer on the HD itself. Have you checked in MSCONFIG to see if you have any funny programs starting when you boot? If there is some utility from your HD manufacturer it'll show up there, or check in your Task Manager, under Processes. That will show you all the programs running. That way, if you delete any programs in Task Manager, and you mistakenly delete the wrong program, it will start back up when you reboot. That is the safest way. Give it a try.
