The 16X DVD-ROM is a read only device. It will read DVD & CD media. The term "combo" normally stands for a drive that is a DVD-ROM(read only)CD/RW device, reads DVD & CD media as well as writes to CD-R & CD-RW media. However it does not write to DVD media, many times Members assume "DVD/CD/RW" means it will write to DVD media. tends to be somewhat confusing.
