computer cannot detect my dvd/cd-rom drive

without warning, my Dell Inspiron 530 no longer detects my dvd/cd-rom drive:  TSST corp DVD+RW TS-H653F ATA device.  This message is associated: Windows cannot start this hardware because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damamged. (Code 19)  Attempted to update the drivers but was told that the most current drivers are already in place.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi JEBRN,

Please click the link below for the old upper and lower filter trick. That should fix this problem.

Hi JEBRN,

Welcome to the Community

As per the error message you are seeing on the screen it could be a problem with the Registry inside the operating system or it could be a problem with the DVD drive itself.

In order to fix this registry issue for the DVD drive please run this Microsoft Fixit tool by using this link

support.microsoft.com/.../cd_dvd_drive_problems

Click on Run and let this tool work on your computer.

In case if it doesn’t resolve the issue please update the latest firm where for the DVD drive by using this link www.dell.com/.../19.

Please reply for any further help!
