difference between dvd-r and dvd+r?

ok, i have a question. my laptop can only burn onto dvd-r and my desktop can only burn onto a dvd+r. is there a quality difference or compatibility difference between dvd-r and dvd+r?

No difference in quality whatsoever!

No compatibility issues should exist for newer (less than 3 years old) DVD-ROM devices.

DVD burners should have no issues reading either type.

DVD Players may still have compatibility issues with some types of media.

The situation is far better than the VHS/BetaMax battle of old.

It isn't going to go away though so if it is a problem for you, you might want to replace the desktop burner with a dual type and keep everything 'dash'.
