DIfficulty reading DVD+R

Question

I have a 5150 with the following DVD drive: C3080  Assembly, DVD_RW, Small Form Factr, Hitachi LG Data Storage, ABCS When I insert a TDK DVD+R that has been written with video it takes the system a long time (several minutes) to recognize it and begin to play.  Once it gets going it works fine, but until then the app (Dell Media Experience) is unresponsive. Any ideas what might be going on?  Is there any specific media that is recommended for this drive? LMO, Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum. You might want to experimentally try different brands of media in that drive to see which works best.
