The small partition [1] is Dell's Hidden EISA Partition that has diagnostics.

Partition 1 is the Dell diagnostics; 2 is the Symantec restore partition. If you remove P1, you'll have to use the diagnostics CD when needed; if you remove P2, you will not be able to restore to an as-shipped configuration quickly - you'd have to manually reinstall everything in case you wanted to restore the system.
