Windows XP cannot recognize a blank DVD.  Windows XP can only
recognize a blank CD as the built-in burning software is for CDs
only.  DVD recognition began with Vista.  You need third-party
software to utilize blank DVD media.

Thanks Skybird. I have Sonic cd/dvd software and I think its working good now. Thanks again for the help.
