disk read error!!!

Question

hey guys i was jsut using the computer one day and everything was rujnnig fine no problems..i shut it down and the next day i went on agian and when i turn it on windows does not even load all it says is 'a disk error occured...press alt atl del to reset.' i keeo reseting and nothing happens the same thing keeps popping up...now i don't know if this is a hard drive problem

It would seem so. Have you tried running diagnostics extended test on the hard drive?

You could also try using Chkdsk /r on the drive.

Reboot the computer, when the Dell logo appears, press F12, a boot device list should appear.
