Drive 0: Maxtor 6Y080M0 - Fail. Return Code: 7

Has anyone else out there ever rec'd this error?  I've run a hard disk check, which comes back telling me the drive is fine.  Just concerned about it continuing to crash and being without a computer until I replace the hard drive.  Luckily (I think) it is under warranty through Maxtor, although not with Dell.

Any ideas, suggestions, etc.?

Thanks all!

In the future, by using the Advanced Forum Search on the bottom of this page, you can quite easily find the answer to this often asked question.

Hundreds of posts on this.  You need a new drive.  If it's original to your Dell, it is NOT covered by Maxtor, so if your Dell warranty has expired you'll need to buy a new drive.
