Hi Computer092,

Verify that you DMA enabled for the drive, Direct X updated and that you did not install another DVD player such as PC Friendly.
Check for updates for PowerDVD at the vendors site.

Merry Christmas!

Hi

Well, I have DMA enabled the drive, and I have the latest update for Power DVD, but it still does not work. I also have DirectX 9.0c...

Hi Computer092,

Have you checked Dell`s site for a possible firmware update for your drive. Dell has rreleased a number to address some read issues with drives?

Yes, I have also checked their site for updates. They have released no updates for my DVD-drive.
I remember that before, a long time ago, maybe a half year, I could play DVD-movies just fine. But then, suddenly, when I tried playing DVD, the error messages started popping up.

Hi Computer092,

Another Member Marc, was going through some of the same issues and he decided to purchase a lens cleaner, after using it, his drive worked fine.
Some prefer the lens cleaner others recommend using a can of compressed to blow out the drive, (short controlled puffs).
You may get lucky as well, thought I would mention this. Also I am fairly sure you uninstalled and reinstalled the DVD software.

Seasons Greetings!

Okay, I will try to purchase a lens cleaner. Thank you for the tip.
But you mentioned I could have uninstalled the DVD-software. Do you have any recommendations for DVD-software that I could download? A new DVD-decoder?
