Check your packing slip or original order to see what kind of DVD burner you purchased.

Also, please turn off your caps lock when posting.

Bullie:

Ok, you should be able to use either DVD+R or DVD-R, any speed up to and including 16x. You can use either single layer (4.7 GB) or dual layer discs. However, you'll find that dual layer discs are prohibitively expensive, so go with 8-12X discs and you'll save some money. Not all brands will perform equally. My preferred brands are Verbatim, Fuji and Memorex. I've had good success with all of these.

Thank you for your response. (Sorry bout the caps. Didn't mean to yell!)
I have looked and I have no idea what it means.
16x DVD+/-RW w/dbl layer write capability.
DV16DVR is all that it says.
All of that is off the packing slip. Other than that were do I check?
Thanks in advance

The short answer is, DVD-R is the standard that will work with most DVD players. DVD+R is a newer format and is not as common, though it works fine on many DVD players. I buy all DVD-R and DVD-RW discs for my projects.

Cheers,

Dave

I just read the post here and am wondering if "dual layer discs are prohibitively expensive" why would a consumer even be considering a DVD+/-RW w/dbl layer write capability (like I'm currently considering until I read the post).
