Hi Hoppy24,

Please go HERE, scroll down to find the section called, Let me fix it myself, and go through that procedure.

That will fix this issue.

Hi Seb Hopkins,

Here's what you can try.

Uninstall the DVD drive from Device Manager. Right click on the 'HL-DT-ST DVD +-RW Gu60N' -> choose 'Uninstall' -> click 'Ok' when prompted -> restart the computer and check.

Alternatively, run the Fixit:

  • Click on the link http://bit.ly/ibV0SO
  • Click ‘Run Now’
  • Click on ‘Save’
  • Choose the location as desktop, save the file on the desktop
  • Right click on the file and choose ‘Run as Administrator’
  • Choose ‘Allow’ if prompted
  • Follow the on screen instruction to run the program
  • Restart the computer

You may refer to the link for more information http://dell.to/XL5sZn

Hope this helps.
