Aside from a clean install, it is about your only option.
Yes it should boot if you installed the raid drivers.
Looks like you have done your homework.

Many Thanks,
but I'm fearing the current RAID driver is not installed.
At this time nVidia_MediaShield_A06_R164977.exe has installed the SATA driver only.
%windir%\system32\drivers\nvraid.sys is still version 6.84
no files from \dell\drivers\R164977\IDE\WinXP\sataraid were installad
only the files from
\dell\drivers\R164977\IDE\WinXP\sata_ide
are installed at this time.
Maybe the version 6.84 raid driver will suffice to boot XP SP3 in raid mode and I can install cuurent raid driver and Media after that?
