from the diagnostic test you made, sounds like the drive is okay. your problem could be just nothing, or you may be right, bad things to come. sometimes a drive will start making noises when going bad.. if the onboard controller on the hard drive goes bad, the drive will just not run , that,s what happen to me. if your drive has not had a problem for over a week, quess i would not be to concerned about it and send the dell drive back.
