Error code 0F00:0244 and 0F00:1A44
Does anyone know what these error codes mean? I ran a system diagnostics test and got these results:
IDE Disk S/N = Y2LRRK2E - Read Test
No additional sense information
Test Results: Fail
Error Code: 0F00:0244
Msg: Block 6716308: Uncorrectable data error or media is write protected.
same message for blocks 6719615, 6719933, 6719940, 6720902, 6721204, 6726522, 144780340, and 144782756.
I also got the same results on the Verify Test w/ error code 0F00:1A44, same blocks.
Please help!!! What does this mean and how do I fix this? The computer will not go past the Windows XP screen, it gets stuck.

The message means the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced.
If your computer is under warranty, contact Dell ASAP,for a replacement hard drive and give the Techie the error message.
