Error message: Cannot find resouce file

When I start up my computer this error message pops up:

"Cannot Find Resource File"

What can I do to stop this from happening?

Thanks

did you previously uninstall or delete anything?

btw this should really be in the software forum.

My first time on I did not even realize where I posted this.  I just want this error message gone.  I recently removed some software because of a virus in my computer.  How do I find out what actually is causing this?

I suspect that you deleted something that is needed by some program or process running at startup.

you can try looking in msconfig and making single changes to what starts up in order to try narrowing down the list.

I tried msconfig before because I was also getting another error message, so I unchecked what was giving me the message in the Startup tab.

Everything else is checked.  Maybe, I would need to restore something in my recycle bin.  I just do not know what to restore.

In the General tab, I currently have the Selective Set up checked.  Is this ok?

Hey:

I just wanted to let you know that I tried msconfig again to solve my error issue.  The problem had to do with Netsurf, so I unchecked this box & I no longer have the error message.

Thanks for your help:smileyhappy:
